Developing Virtual Communication Skills in Online Learning Based on Modified PBL During the Covid-19 Pandemic

This study aims to determine the virtual communication skills of students in Vertebrate Zoology course, subject Reptile Class with example Varanus salvator species. The research was conducted by survey method using an adaptation observation sheet from 2012 Greenstein instrument. Data collection carried out on modified online Problem Based Learning (PBL) Zoom meeting and WhatsApp Group (WAG). While presentation organizing stages were class discussion Zoom, problems that have been formulated discussed each group a WAG. data obtained analyzed quantitatively, percentage formula (Akbar, 2013) book Device Instruments showed results oral 86.73%, understand intent/purpose 85.65%, use strategies 86.57%, 85.19%, criterion falling category ‘Exceeded Expectations’. Meanwhile, viewing aiming target 84.57%, two receptive listening reading included ‘Satisfactory’ category. general 85.16% as average ‘Exceeding finding suggests which skills, understanding purpose communication, strategies, communicating clearly for purpose, can be achieved virtually.
